Your Personal GPS

God's Positioning System...GPS

I don't own a GPS. It might not come as a surprise to those of you who know my husband. We used a friend's GPS once and it told us we had arrived at our destination...while we were in the middle of an intersection! We have not relied on a GPS since.

Are We Gullible?

Why is it that we will put so much faith into a GPS system and believe with all our hearts that it will lead us to our correct destination? Has it ever failed us? Mine did. If we truly believe that "God is Love" (1st John 4:8) then why is it so hard to always bear in mind that "Love never fails."? (1 Cor. 13:8)
God does not disappoint us. Life does. God does not fail us. People do. God guides us through His Perfect Plan...not through our own selfish desires.

So when life fails us, rely on God. Rely on your own personal GPS. God's Positioning System - and have the faith that He will guide you to your correct destination. It may not look like a straight path, or the easiest, or even the right path...but it's the one He wants you to take. And He NEVER fails us. Believe!

BE UNDEFEATED

YOU'VE ALREADY WON!

As women we are constantly trying to fix ourselves or hide away because of the whispers. The whispers that tell us we are unworthy, unloved, and even unforgivable. All those whispers of unworthiness are nothing but LIES from the father of lies, Satan himself.

Women have an innate fear of being abandoned. We are not meant to be alone, but so often find ourselves lonely. We think we're not good enough, pretty enough, 'mom' or 'wife' enough, etc...But WHY does Satan attack us?
God loves women. He chose for his son to enter the world through a woman! God created woman after Satan fell from grace. We were created out of beauty! We are called to bear life...Satan is the one who brings death.

Let's take a look at Jeremiah 30:16-17.Satan tries to devour us, but God promises to devour Satan. God is the one who will forever put Satan in captivity and when he tries to prey on us, God preys on him!

God is on our side. We've already won. It's time to stop believing the lies, because they're nothing but Satan's fatal, last ditch effort to bring us down with him. BE UNDEFEATED!

FEAR

...AND IS IT WORTH HOLDING ONTO?

Sometimes we can let our lives be run by fear. Fear of not being good enough, pretty enough, smart enough - whatever it is, I'm sure you can think of word that comes to mind for the phrase, "I'm just not _______ enough."
Why do we do this to ourselves? Why do we constantly beat ourselves up? Are we afraid of change? Afraid of failure? Afraid of the unknown?
What if we stopped thinking about all the negative 'what if' thoughts, i.e, "What if I fail?" "What if I fall" "What if I can't?", and start replacing them with positive 'what if's?" "What if I CAN?" "What if I DO?" "What if I WIN?"

I saw a great video this past week and in case you missed it, I'm posting the link here. Even if you did watch it, it's worth watching again. It's a high school dance team - no, they're not dancing to "All about the Base," or shaking their tail feathers - it is the most inspiring peace I've ever seen come from a high school dance team.

So, believe in yourself! I believe in YOU!

JEALOUS MUCH!

The Lord is a Jealous God...

No, this isn't some middle school drama where two girls like the same guy or someone's hair is way cooler than your own. This is about someone who would like nothing more in the world than to have a relationship with YOU!

The word jealousy gets a bad rap and is often compared to covetousness. But it also includes this idea of 'vigilantly guarding something.' Our God is a Jealous God. And the thing that He is 'vigilantly guarding' is YOU. There is no greater feeling than knowing someone is constantly seeking out your presence, your time, and your love. God COVETS His time with YOU.

Let's return the same vigilance and guard our hearts in relationship to our God.
Last week we began our new playlist. We would love for you to join us again Monday February 8th at 6:30p.m. for another fun and funky workout! Come'on, don't you want hear the CHURCH CLAP?!?!?!

Believe in Yourself...I do!

How's Your Resolution?

Did you know according to Forbes that only 8% of people actually achieve their New Year's Resolution? Let's face it, the odds are not ever in your favor.
But there's one thing I'm sure that statistic didn't count on...You are a child of God; You have been saved by grace and through faith you CAN move mountains; you are MORE THAN CONQUERS! (Romans 8:37)
So, if the phrase 'more than conquers' has become somewhat complacent since you hear it all time, let me put it a different way. You have the power to CRUST, OVERTHROW, VANQUISH, OVERPOWER, OVERMASTER, PREVAIL, and TRAMPLE UNDERFOOT anything that you have set it in your heart to achieve this year.

Don't let a step back or a slip cause to you release, surrender, forfeit or retreat from the plans God has for you in 2016.

We'll be here for you every Monday to help you focus on your goals with tips and advice on how to accomplish what is before you. We are NOT just a weight loss/workout group. We are a community of people joined together who want to see each other succeed - in ANY and ALL goals you have set for yourself.

So, if you've never joined us, we invite you with open arms and open hearts. We are a WALLS DOWN, no judgement group and accept you for where you are in life right now...we don't force you to be like us, we just want YOU to be the best YOU you can be!

Class Monday Nights. 1900 N Providence Rd, Columbia MO 65202. 6:30-7:30pm with an optional 10 minute session at the end of how you can stay on track with your goals in 2016!

See you Monday!

Giving Thanks

A time to be Thankful!

What Are You Thankful For?

Giving praise is sometimes one of the hardest prayers to pray; especially when things in life aren't going as planned. Even when we do pray, our prays might be 10% praise and 90% of asking God to change something in our life. I know I'm guilty.
Those of you who know me well also know that being a foster parent holds a very special place in my heart. While my biological kids usually pray for puppies and bunnies, and 'please let this food be good;' almost all my foster kids have prayed the same prayer: "Please let me go home."

It's a very humbling experience to hear a 6, 8, or even 12 year old child's prayer filled with longing for the home they once knew. And every time I think about one of those prayers, even now, I'm filled with Thankfulness for everything God has given me - from the salvation that He paid for me on the cross to home I live in (even if the living room lights flash when the microwave runs.)

So this week, let's focus our prayers on PRAISE; really be thankful for your home, your children, and your friends, even if the situation surrounding those things isn't perfect!

God is good...all the time.
All the time...God is good.

LET IT GO

LET IT GO...

No, I'm not talking about the song from FROZEN. Okay, maybe a little. What should we let go you ask? Not our friends, not our family, or your home...but that person inside of you that tells you "You're not good enough," "You're not strong enough," or, in the words of Deanna Sharpe, "You're ugly, you stink!"
If we trust God to take total control of our lives, we can learn to let go of the insecurities that hold us back from the fullness of God's plan. It's so easy to put on a mask and pretend to be the person you think you should be. But don't be scared of the person you are.

Do we all screw up? Yep. Do we all make mistakes? Yep. But embrace the imperfections. It's the only way to grow.

We're not perfect. We make mistakes - so will you...Just Keep on Dancing!
