I know it's been a while....But things are happening! God is moving!

I know it's been a while...

I know I've been MIA with THIS blog lately. I'm going to try and be better. It's been a crazy summer and things are happening. God is moving and I'm so excited to share some things with you!
I've been building my own online business and I'm having a great time doing it! If you want to check out all my hard work you can find me at https://6figurehousewife.com/.

But Today, I want to Encourage You...

I want to leave you with Jeremiah 12:5. God is speaking to Jeremiah after he has been complaining about his current situation.

"If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses?

What does this mean?
  • If you want God to do the Big Things - you have to show up for the little things
  • The little things DO matter - God sees them even when no one else does
  • Trust Him and you WILL be able to run with the horses - God is saying that it IS possible
I want to pray for each and every one of you today. You are what this community great!

Feeling Underachieved?

Have You Ever Felt Under-Accomplished?

Maybe there was a goal that used to be on your horizon, but today seems like a distant dream. Maybe you're not as advanced in life as you hoped to be by now and the feeling of failure begins to seep in. But what if instead of feeling like we failed - we simply realize that our goals change over time.

Priorities determine much of how we live our lives. Sometimes a sacrifice does have to be made, sometimes we do miss out. But just because a door closes, doesn't mean it's locked shut with the key forever gone into an abyss. Sometimes, it just takes longer to get there than we originally expected.

So, if there's anything that you want to accomplish in your lifetime, today is a great day to readjust some priorities. You can't go back in time and change your beginning - but today you can begin to change your ending. A phrase my husband uses that was passed down from his father, "If there isn't time to do it right, there's time to do it over." We can't change what's been done, but we can start to make changes today!

So what can you do today? Maybe it's as simple as just writing it down. Put a declaration on your bathroom mirror! Look at it everyday and decided what small steps you can take to make your dreams come true. So, some practical steps:

  1. WRITE IT DOWN AND LOOK  AT IT EVERY DAY (you can do that NOW)
  2.  GET A CHEERLEADER....or two or three. You don't have to shout out your ambitions to the whole world, but a few close friends who will be there to encourage you along the way and who won't let you give up - no matter how many times you may fail.
  3. REMEMBER...BABY STEPS. It might not be the right time in your life to move to France - but if it's what you want to do, start by putting a few dollars away every day. One step at a time still gets you one step closer.
  4. PRAY...this should be first. Because if you're going to be truly happy and accomplish what God has already put in your heart, you'd better make sure you're it's what HE has in store for you. God cares about your happiness. He put those desires in you in the first place. Make sure He's part of the plan - better yet, make sure He is the plan!

My WHO is not my DO

God is always pleased with your "Who"...

...but sometimes we need to work on our 'Do's'.
I was reminded this weekend that God has already redeemed me from everything I could truly fear - an eternity apart from Him. I don't need to dwell on the fears that "I'm not good enough," "I'm not smart enough," "I'm not pretty enough," or even "I'm not 'Christian' enough." God loves me, because HE made me! My who is perfected through Jesus Christ! Yes, I mess up. Yes, I make mistakes. BUT GOD is gracious enough to forgive me...all I have to do is ask.

It's a hard concept to remember. I don't always have to be perfect. I had the opportunity to celebrate a couple who got married this past weekend. On their wedding day, they were also celebrating their 250th day of sobriety! God has brought them through so much over the past year. I look at them, and I don't see them for their past mistakes. I see them for their strength in the Lord. Is it easy for them just because they're 'Christians' now? NO! They struggle with temptation every single day. This does not make them 'bad people.' This makes them human. But the fact that they have resisted temptation for so long makes them perfected through Jesus!

Are you struggling? We all do. Remember to see yourself as Christ does...your 'Who' is always good enough for God. Let that perfection shine through your 'Do's' too!

Your Personal GPS

God's Positioning System...GPS

I don't own a GPS. It might not come as a surprise to those of you who know my husband. We used a friend's GPS once and it told us we had arrived at our destination...while we were in the middle of an intersection! We have not relied on a GPS since.

Are We Gullible?

Why is it that we will put so much faith into a GPS system and believe with all our hearts that it will lead us to our correct destination? Has it ever failed us? Mine did. If we truly believe that "God is Love" (1st John 4:8) then why is it so hard to always bear in mind that "Love never fails."? (1 Cor. 13:8)
God does not disappoint us. Life does. God does not fail us. People do. God guides us through His Perfect Plan...not through our own selfish desires.

So when life fails us, rely on God. Rely on your own personal GPS. God's Positioning System - and have the faith that He will guide you to your correct destination. It may not look like a straight path, or the easiest, or even the right path...but it's the one He wants you to take. And He NEVER fails us. Believe!

BE UNDEFEATED

YOU'VE ALREADY WON!

As women we are constantly trying to fix ourselves or hide away because of the whispers. The whispers that tell us we are unworthy, unloved, and even unforgivable. All those whispers of unworthiness are nothing but LIES from the father of lies, Satan himself.

Women have an innate fear of being abandoned. We are not meant to be alone, but so often find ourselves lonely. We think we're not good enough, pretty enough, 'mom' or 'wife' enough, etc...But WHY does Satan attack us?
God loves women. He chose for his son to enter the world through a woman! God created woman after Satan fell from grace. We were created out of beauty! We are called to bear life...Satan is the one who brings death.

Let's take a look at Jeremiah 30:16-17.Satan tries to devour us, but God promises to devour Satan. God is the one who will forever put Satan in captivity and when he tries to prey on us, God preys on him!

God is on our side. We've already won. It's time to stop believing the lies, because they're nothing but Satan's fatal, last ditch effort to bring us down with him. BE UNDEFEATED!

FEAR

...AND IS IT WORTH HOLDING ONTO?

Sometimes we can let our lives be run by fear. Fear of not being good enough, pretty enough, smart enough - whatever it is, I'm sure you can think of word that comes to mind for the phrase, "I'm just not _______ enough."
Why do we do this to ourselves? Why do we constantly beat ourselves up? Are we afraid of change? Afraid of failure? Afraid of the unknown?
What if we stopped thinking about all the negative 'what if' thoughts, i.e, "What if I fail?" "What if I fall" "What if I can't?", and start replacing them with positive 'what if's?" "What if I CAN?" "What if I DO?" "What if I WIN?"

I saw a great video this past week and in case you missed it, I'm posting the link here. Even if you did watch it, it's worth watching again. It's a high school dance team - no, they're not dancing to "All about the Base," or shaking their tail feathers - it is the most inspiring peace I've ever seen come from a high school dance team.

So, believe in yourself! I believe in YOU!

JEALOUS MUCH!

The Lord is a Jealous God...

No, this isn't some middle school drama where two girls like the same guy or someone's hair is way cooler than your own. This is about someone who would like nothing more in the world than to have a relationship with YOU!

The word jealousy gets a bad rap and is often compared to covetousness. But it also includes this idea of 'vigilantly guarding something.' Our God is a Jealous God. And the thing that He is 'vigilantly guarding' is YOU. There is no greater feeling than knowing someone is constantly seeking out your presence, your time, and your love. God COVETS His time with YOU.

Let's return the same vigilance and guard our hearts in relationship to our God.
Last week we began our new playlist. We would love for you to join us again Monday February 8th at 6:30p.m. for another fun and funky workout! Come'on, don't you want hear the CHURCH CLAP?!?!?!
